Silvino Vargas Hernandez is currently the Head of Animal Husbandry Discipline at Veterinary Medicine Department, Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas Cuba. Prof. Silvino Vargas got several awards and prizes. He is awarded by The National Academy of Sciences in Cuba in the year of 1991/01/14. He is also awarded as “The best integral alumnus” in the MSc Course on Rational Grass Management granted by the Agricultural University of Havana, Cuba.2000/07/07. Prof.AliZarrabi is a faculty member in the Entomology and Plant Pathology Department at Oklahoma State University. He received a B.S. degree in Agriculture from Hamadan Agricultural College in Iran and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Crop Science (Plant Breeding and Genetics) from Oklahoma State University. He has conducted research on aphid ecology and the impact of other pest insects in Oklahoma ecosystems. Dr. Zarrabi has more than thirty-five years of experience at Oklahoma State University and his major focus area is the evaluation of host-plant resistance sources against aphids in wheat, canola, soybean, sorghum, and alfalfa. He also has been involved in insecticide efficacy and sampling in row crops. Characterization of genetic sources of resistance to bird cherry-oat aphid is essential in the development of future wheat varieties, and Dr. Zarrabi has spent the past 5 years developing a repeatable and reliable protocol for phenotypingaphid injury. Based on Dr. Zarrabi’s research on the Wheat Improvement Team, numerous RIL’s (recombinat inbred lines) lines with resistance to aphid feeding have been identified and advanced within the wheat breeding program at OSU.

Tom Royer completed his Ph.D. in Entomology at Texas A&M University in College Station. He joined the University of Illinois in 1991 as an Extension Educator, IPM. He joined Oklahoma State University in 1997 where he is now Professor and Extension Entomologist. For the past 11 years, he has coordinated IPM Oklahoma!, Oklahoma State’s statewide IPM program that is funded through USDA’s National Institute for Food and Agriculture. He developed Glance n’ Go, the sequential sampling program for greenbugs in wheat. He is the author/co-author on more than 200 journal articles, book chapters, and technical/extension publications.

Dr. Arunas Tuzikas is senior research engineer at the Lighting Enabled Systems and Applications (LESA) engineering research center of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI, Toy, NY, USA), funded primary by the National Science Foundation (NSF), he is also research associate of the Greenhouse Lighting and Systems Engineering (GLASE) consortium. One of the focus areas of dr Tuzikas are LED based advanced lighting systems with precision spectral control and feedback loops for various applications starting with the art work illumination and finishing the horticultural research lights. Arunas has PhD in Material Science of Department of Semiconductor Physics at Vilnius University (Lithuania) and more than 10 years of engineering experience both in Europe and United States, he is a coauthor of multiple scientific publications on solid state lighting in reputed peer reviewed journals and has patents on spectrally tunable light systems for horticultural applications.

Sheldon-London earned her MBA Leadership & Sustainability at University of Cumbria, Masters in Contemporary Diplomacy at University of Malta and continues her studies at Harvard Kennedy School in Public Leadership. She presents her research at Economics Conferences internationally, is a Contributor to the UN and The World Bank.

Dr. Kuo-Chen Chou is the founder of Gordon Life Science Institute, the first Internet Research Institute ever established in the world.He is also a Distinguished High Impact Professor and Advisory Professor of several Universities.He has been continuously for 5 years(2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018) selected by Thomson Reuters and Clarivate Analytics as ISI Highly Cited Researcher. Kevin grew up in a farm family in Selma, CA and later moved to San Luis Obispo, CA where he was active in FFA, after military service he attended Cal Poly, SLO and received his BS in Ag Business Management. For the next 20 years he was involved in the fresh produce industry in production, marketing, product development, and management, both domestically and internationally. In 1995 he became involved in remote sensing and precision farming. Since then he has been involved in sensor development, data acquisition, image analysis, and integration of the technology into production agriculture and farm management.

Dr. Gordon Huang is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Energy and Environment, and Executive Director of the Institute for Energy, Environment and Sustainable Communities at the University of Regina, Canada. He holds BSC from Peking University (China), MSc from Simon Fraser University (Canada) and PhD from McMaster University (Canada). Since the 1990s, Huang has led or been involved in over 150 environment-related research projects, produced over 700 peer-refereed international journal papers (with an H-index of 46 in Science Citation Index), and supervised over 100 Master/PhD students. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and the President of the International Society for Environmental Information Sciences. He also acts (or acted) as editor-in-chief for 2 international journals and editorial board member for over 10 journals, and was conference chair or keynote speaker at over 40 international events. He has also served the United Nations Development Programme as Chief Scientist for the Program of Rural Water Resources Management and Drinking Water Safety, and was involved in a number of UNDP-supported research activities in China.

André Leu was named international director of Regeneration International in 2017. Previously he was president of IFOAM—Organics International, the international umbrella organization for the organic sector. IFOAM, which has about 850 member organisations in 127 countries, was a founding member of RI. During his tenure as president of IFOAM, Leu served on the RI steering committee. During 40-plus years of visiting and working in more than 100 countries, Leu acquired an extensive knowledge of farming and environmental systems across Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa and Australasia. He and his wife, Julia, run an organic tropical fruit farm in Daintree, Australia. Leu is an international lecturer who has spoken at the United Nations and at conferences, seminars, universities and workshops. He advises governments, industry, farmers, consumers and NGOs on the multi-functional benefits of regenerative organic agriculture. He is the author of “Poisoning our Children” and the “Myths of Safe Pesticides.” He has contributed articles to magazines, newspapers, journals, conference proceedings, newsletters and websites.

Setyowati R. Djiwanti is a senior researcher in Indonesian Spice and Medicinal Crop Research Institute (ISMECRI), Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. During 2016 – Now, she currently serves as Head of Plant Protection Division of ISMECRI. In her laboratory, essential oil-based pesticide formulation were extensively studied. She received her M.S.in Environmental Biology from the Chiba University, Japan in 1996; and her PhD in Agricultural Biology from Hokkaido University, Japan in 1999. She published several scientific papers in National and International Journals.

Mario Cambardella currently serves as the city of Atlanta’s first Urban Agriculture Director. In this position, he is responsible for agriculture-related policy development, program management and technical expert for food production, aggregation, distribution and restoration within the City limits. Mario holds a BS and MS in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia.
